Current RRPL vice-champion Krasny Yar announced today the signing of Tonga international Fangatapu Apikotoa. The fly-half or centre already played for Krasny Yar in 2015.
Krasny Yar lost Eddie Paea during the offseason but found another international to fill the fly-half/centre position in Fangatapu Apikotoa. The 33 year-old Tongan collected 30 caps with Tonga between 2004 and 2014, including 20 as a starter.
In 2015, Apikotoa played a decisive role in Krasny Yar championship run. He notably scored a key try in the second leg of the final against Enisei-STM. Apikotoa will be also used as a kicker.
Fangatapu Apikotoa joined Krasny Yar in training camp in Martkopi, Georgia, 10 days before the first leg of the Challenge Cup qualifying playoff against Timisoara Saracens. The crucial game will be played in Rustavi on April 1st.
